Today was a massively productive day. I'm not sure if its the weather that is suddenly summery, or simply the knowledge that NaPoWriMo is slowly leaving me, one second at a time, but I was able to come up with titles and an outline for a couple different poems. As a teaser, I will give you the titles, but I will take my time in posting excerpts as these poems become more fully alive. They are:

-Threnody
-How Write A Poem
-Whiskey and Smores
-The Oriole
I hope this whets the appetite a little bit. More coming later in the week.

James Joyce, a poet as well as a ground-breaking novelist, identified one of the most sublime aspects of beauty in his definition of the Latin claritas. Translated by Joyce to mean radiance, this quality completed his triune criteria of beauty, particularly concerning literature. This radiance is necessary to capture a true picture of beauty because it reaches beyond itself into a new dimension- the mind of the reader. Such a quality is lacking throughout much of contemporary literature. This weblog seeks to find this radiance and unveil it in works of art that shine with strong literary power.
